Dragon Age 2 Update

Dragon Age 2 is being featured in GameInformer! Check it out here also the debut trailer is coming out 8/17/10. They are using a slightly different art style in the second game, I'm curious as to if I will actually like it or not. This is THE game I am looking forward too, and probably the only game i'm actually going to pre-order instead of waiting a year to play it.

The Coolest Mouse I've Ever Seen

While I'm playing games that I will soon review I'll leave you some goodies to look at. This is the R.A.T. gaming mouse. It is pretty much the bees knees. It is the most versatile, customizable mouse I have ever seen. Everyone keeps going on about Razer mice but this is really where its at I think. I have yet to purchase either because I am rather fond of killing everyone with my shitty logitech mouse that fits my hands really well. I can however vouch for the cyborg keyboard I own. I've had it for three years of HEAVY use and the only wear that is visible is the m and n keys are a little worn out. WASD is chrome plated to prevent wear. So here is the coolest mouse ever.

These are the games I am currently playing and will review soon.
-KOTOR (finishing up the game and going to do a plot review instead of mechanics due to the age of the game)
-Mass Effect (two will come as soon as i'm done with one)
-Alien Swarm

In the future I hope to get Dragon Age Awakening and tell you what I think of that. I am in the process of moving so my posts might a little more light weight for the next week or so.

EA Games Sale

I got an email this morning that announced that EA games was having an EPIC sale on digital copies of Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. Instead of being close to 40/50 bucks Mass Effect 2 was only 20 bucks. I jumped on it. I'm going to report my feelings on using EA games digital copies compared to Steam since my last non-Valve Steam game was a little sucky. I also will be able to review these lovely games and my feelings on them. I am especially excited about Mass Effect 2, although I plan to play them in order. I want to see how it compares to my all time favorite Dragon Age: Origins.

I have continued to play Alien Swarm and it has started to grow on me. I like to play the female weapons specialist. Lots of big guns. Just my thing I guess. It is a challenging game. The only thing so far that I have an issue with is the small amount of playable missions. Perhaps they will be releasing more in the future. We will just have to wait and see.

Dragon Age 2!

Yup, I said it. Dragon Age: Origins is going to go number 2 (ewww gross) but no really, I'm excited. I'm not as much of a skeptic on sequels in the gaming world, it is just movies that should probably just stop at one unless they are part of a series and still then. Toy story 3...please? Shrek is the worst, please no more large farting green people. One was funny, two was ok...three was too much...I don't even want to go on. Anyways HERE is the article on The Escapist about it. Also if you go to the Bioware page for Dragon Age: Origins you can sign up for the newsletter that will give you the latest news on their soon to be sequel. SUPER exciting. This is a game I might just buy right at the release. Now the question that is hovering over this announcement is...Will it be as good as the first one? Better? More polished and also original? I guess we will have to wait till next year to see.

Dragon Age Origins: Collector's Edition

I am very hard to please when it comes to video games. I want entertainment, challenge and a good storyline. Dragon Age: Origins has all of these and more. This game is by far the best that I have played in my life, hands down. It gives you the same thrill of a movie without locking you out of making any choices, quite the opposite. This game has so many possibilities there is no way you could play it just once. I played through my first time as an elf mage, who was entirely morally good. I was so entertained and captivated, this was a challenging game that was not frustrating. If I failed at a certain part I was not stuck I always had something new to try.

I have no complaints, and observed very few bugs or problems, most of them probably could have been computer related instead of game. Also, this game is beautiful especially if you have a computer that can handle the highest settings of graphics. The voice acting was impressive, more like an animated movie than a video game, and also the voices matched the movement of the characters lips as well. The story is impressive, and the lore is so extensive its surprising that this game is not based on a book.

There was only one problem I came across, when I was doing the human noble origins as a warrior. I would get to a certain point where you need to get through a certain door. The door was locked (it wasn't supposed to be) and I even created a new character and had it happen again. I eventually got past the bug by skipping the side quest to get the family treasures (sadly, they are very good items) There are polishing issues in this game. If they had kept it for a few weeks to clean up these few issues, this game would be near perfect in my book.

CONTROLS: The controls of the keyboard were typical to rpg type games, but I found they didn't get in the way as I went through the game. This is a group based tactical game where it is important to balance characters and also control their positions on the battlefield. Unlike Mass Effect, BioWare's other famous rpg this is not an fps based game. I actually do really like fps games but every once and a while I like something different. This is certainly something different.

female elf mage, Alistar romance, Alistair dies
female dalish elf warrior, Leliana, character dies
